Burn marks on granite.
Burn marks will not go away on their own and need to be treated in order to get your countertop looking as good as new.
Steps to remove the burn mark.
It is possible to sand away burn marks on the surface of solid surface countertops.
Granite and darker marbles are better equipped to conceal treated burn marks since the background has a darker shade along with dense graining.
Marble surfaces are more tedious to treat since the white backdrop is very difficult for concealing a burn mark.
The granite slabs that are used to make kitchen countertops can sometimes be damaged by extremely hot pots and pans though so home owners should be careful.
Gently rub the affected area with the sandpaper using an even circular motion.
Scrub the area lightly with either a scrub brush or toothbrush.
Begin by using the soft cloth and mild soap to remove any discoloration from the surface.
Apply a layer of white toothpaste to the scorch mark and allow it to set for several minutes.
Granite countertops can add a upscale aesthetic element to any kitchen.
Be sure to use micro grit sandpaper with a very fine type grit for example 240.
